"Interviews" will be a collection of poems, quotes, and vignettes based on the diverse stories individuals across the gender spectrum. This initiative launched during Women’s March on Washington on January 21st and is inspired by the continuous efforts of intersectional activists worldwide who strive to lead peaceful resistance initiatives in the wake of sexism, bigotry, and oppression of all kinds.
This project is geared toward cis & trans women, genderqueer folx, and nonbinary folx of all racial backgrounds and abilities for the specific purpose of shining new light on their diverse voices and stories.
So, what's your part in this process?
It's simple! We sit together -- either via video chat or in person, and we just talk. Whatever comes from these interactions will eventually become an artful piece inspired wholeheartedly by YOU.
If Spanish is your native language and you prefer to express yourself in that way, I can happily accommodate you.
At its very core, “Interviews,” is a peaceful but informed resistance to the United States’ current political administration, an entity whose actions threaten to disenfranchise, silence, and displace vulnerable communities like those identities mentioned above. Additionally, this project is a way to immortalize and reinvigorate human-to-human conversation through creativity and artfulness.
In these uncertain times, we all have something that matters to us to defend, keep, and restore.
What matters to you?
If you feel that you would benefit from taking part in this movement, email me. Let's collaborate on a kaleidoscopic collection of human stories.
